Their new concept builds upon today's already popular on-line grocery delivery service by conveniently combining the correct portions of all of the ingredients needed for some particular dish into one convenient cardboard box that is delivered timely to your door. More specifically, XinWeiCook offers customers a way to shop on their website for delicious meals according to colorful pictures and deions. Then the ingredients for each ordered dish are collected, prepared, and boxed together to be delivered to the customer's home, usually within the same day. For each dish, ready-prepared sauces, raw washed and sliced veggies, cleaned raw meats, etc. are neatly, individually packaged, and combined together into a cardboard box. Sufficiently detailed instructions, including color photos of each step in the cooking process, are also included.

We started out our first XinWeiCook meal with their fresh and crunchy Green Salad and Italian Cheese Chicken. We used the enclosed egg and flour to coat the fresh chicken breast strips, fry them up, and then lay them on top of the crunchy fresh lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and assorted Italian vinaigretted cucumbers, sun-dried tomato, and olives, quality imported grated Italian parmesan cheese. After lastly drizzling their flavorful, zesty sherry vinaigrette dressing atop of the above, we, voila, had prepared a tasty, healthy bowl of goodness with enough to share for two with real Italian flavors.

We next cooked up our Sous-vide Cod with Mashed Purple Potato main course. This slightly more complicated dish comes with all of the difficult, messy work already taken care of. We just needed to take care of the last minute tasks of quick, simple cooking and reheating. We first blanched and stir-fried the veggies using the enclosed plastic containers of butter and salt and pepper. We next removed the generous portions of cod, already cleaned and slow-cooked in delicious lemon and herb marinade, from their individual plastic bags and placed in the pre-heated and oiled frying pan. Even the right portion of olive oil is conveniently provided in its own, individual mini plastic container. We pan-fried the generous fillets just right to create a crunchy skin with moist tasty meat inside. After trying to plate the dish as is shown in the directions, we lastly drizzled atop the dish the enclosed, pre-mixed, and very tasty, fresh pesto sauce from its plastic container. The citrus and herb flavors of the cod and the many tastes from the pesto complimented the fresh tastes and crunch of the mixed veggies and the soft, slightly sweet tastes of the colorful and comforting mashed purple potatoes.

Completing the cod dinner is a generous accompanying portion of French Onion Bacon Potato. The dish comes complete with bags of washed and sliced fresh baby potatoes, sliced onions, strips of bacon, and another small tub of butter. Cooking was as simple as giving the potatoes a quick boil until soft and then a quick pan saut with the butter, bacon, and onions. I was very glad that even the onions are pre-sliced, which meant that we didn't need to worry about crying from cutting the onions. The result of preparing this simple dish was a tasty side that boasted an abundant potato taste with smoky flavors from the saut ed buttery bacon and onions.

In addition to the Cod dinner set meal, we also cooked up an order ofthe Gyudon Beef Rice Bowl. As with the cod, the quality of the meat included in this XinWeiCook meal was very high: 150 grams of very delicious and tender rib eye steak. After a quick stir-fry of the beef slices using a separate enclosed plastic bottle of olive oil, and then browning the sliced fresh okra, we then slowly heated up and thickened the Teriyaki sauce from its plastic pack. By the time all of these steps were complete, the included tasty Thai jasmine rice, chosen by XinWeiCook for that extra touch of quality, had also just finished cooking in my rice cooker. We felt satisfied that, after laying the beef on top of the rice, then spreading out the cooked okra and shredded scallion over the beef, and pouring the sauce over the whole, our rendition of the Gyudon looked almost similar to the recipe's reference picture.

All in all, for those with very busy lives, I think that there can be a place for this evolutionary way of bringing fresh, hot, tasty, and reasonably priced meals comprised from quality ingredients to the dinner table. Furthermore, I'm confident that, with a little experience, or some artistic flair, most customers' plates will look a lot more attractive than ours. I'm just not sure that I'm personally ready to sacrifice the environmental impact of all of the empty plastic bags, bottles, and containers enclosed in each cardboard box for the sake of the extra convenience gained.
